Coordinated, orderless inventory replenishment for a single buyer and multiple buyers through electronic data interchange
Article Abstract:
An analytical model of a proposed orderless system for single supplier and multiple buyers is presented. The model requires that the supplier alone makes all replenishment decisions, without ordering on the part of the customers. The approach is compared with the classical reorder point based system to demonstrate the impact of electronic data interchange (EDI) on certain inventory control situations. EDI-based inventory control can be attractive from economic and other standpoints and consistent with and can be instrumental in moving towards just-in-time inventory management.

Management of inventory using control theory
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to find the best systems approach to managing inventory and reducing cost. Results show that the use of control algorithms such as proportional, derivative and integral, provides a sophisticated method of inventory control that easily diminishes stock levels and inventory costs. It was also found that the implementation of Material Requirements Planning II, a computer managed system and Just In Time technique significantly reduces stock costs.

Data interchange services: Use of XML hub approach for the aerospace supply chain
Article Abstract:
Software developers and businesses are actively pursuing the next phase of business-to-business integration (B2Bi), namely XML-based web applications that can enable inter-enterprise integration. The XML hub prototype is developed using widely applied web-based technologies where the hub architecture is flexible, scalable, extensible and suitable for a distributed networking environment.
