Cyclic deformation and anisotropic constitutive relations of Al-6061-T6 under biaxial loading
Article Abstract:
The stress, strain and anisotropic properties of the Al-6061-T6 plate at multiaxial loading condidtions are studied. Two orientations of specimen made from Al-6061-T6 material are subjected to reversed cyclic tests under three loading conditions, namely: tension/compression, torsion and combined tension/torsion in-phase. A biaxial extensometer is used to measure the system strain. The results are then presented in the form of cyclic stress-strain curves. Results indicate that the cyclic stress-strain curves along the rolling and transverese direction of the plate are anisotropic.

Fatigue life parameter for Type 304 stainless steel under biaxial-tensile loading at elevated temperature
Article Abstract:
A damage parameter for predicting fatigue life under biaxial-tensile loadings was described. Past studies focused on situations where the in-plane biaxial stress ratio was negative. However, cases where principal stresses in tension were involved have received little attention. Thus, a testing method was used to carry out biaxial fatigue tests. The obtained experimental data were compared with the predictions of the proposed parameter and the correlation between the experimental fatigue lives and applied stress states was discussed.
