Cyclopentadienyl--carboranyl hybrid compounds: a new class of versatile ligands for organometallic chemistry
Article Abstract:
The synthesis of a new class of ligands possessing both an organic and an inorganic moiety with a bridging ligand is described. Research indicates that these ligands can be converted into mono-, di-, tri- and pentaanionic species to form new types of organometallic compounds. These compounds are hybrids of an organic and an inorganic components bearing a cyclic pi-ligand, an icosahedral carborane moiety, and a bridging group.

New approaches to the analysis of high connectivity materials: Design frameworks based upon 4(super 4) - and 6(super3) - subnet tectons
Article Abstract:
The approach to the interpretation of complex framework materials is a valuable development to aid understanding of highly complex structures. Instead of considering 3-D structures solely in terms of topology, the approach allows a simpler and more readily visualized description in terms of 2-D subnet tectons derived from 4(super4)- and 6(super3)-nets.
