Design of an inentory system for the volatile organic compounds emitted by various activities
Article Abstract:
A study organized by the national Technical University of Athens has resulted in a new system for reporting air emissions according to European Union regulation. The article details the system for inventorying, calculating and reporting the range of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) emitted by industry.

Diffusion of volatile organic compounds in pressed humic acid disks
Article Abstract:
The sorption of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in humic acid appears to be a natural process and that the slow process of sorption in natural soils is not caused mainly by the diffusion in the humic acid. The VOCs, which included toluene, n-hexane and acetone, exhibited diffusivities in humic acid disks that range from 10(super-8) to 10(super-9) cm(super2)/s. Their desorption rates, which increase with temperature, register at 10(super-9) cm(super2)/s.
