Manufacturing aspects relating to the effects of direct current on the tensile properties of metals
Article Abstract:
Study examines using an electrical current to reduce the deformation energy and presents electricity's effects on the tensile properties of various materials. The analysis showed that applying electricity during deformation provides a viable alternative to increasing the workpiece temperature for deformation-based manufacturing processes.

Finite element modeling of chip formation in the domain of negative rake angle cutting
Article Abstract:
A thermo-elastic-plastic finite element modeling of orthogonal cutting with a large negative rake angle is developed to understand the mechanism and thermal aspects of grinding. A stagnant chip material ahead of the tool tip that is always observed with large negative rake angles is assumed to act like a stable built-up edge.
