Effect of organic amendments on herbicide sorption as related to the nature of the dissolved organic matter
Article Abstract:
This study evaluates the influence of four organic amendments (QA) liquefied LF and solid SF from olive-mill wastes (commercial humic amendments), a solid urban waste, and a sewage sludge on the sorption of two herbicides, simazine (6-chloro-N,N(super ')-diethyl-1,3,5-triazine-2,4-diamine)) and 2.4-D((2.4-dichlorophenoxy)acetic acid). The role of dissolved organic matter was emphasized.

Enzymatic coupling of the herbicide bentazon with humus monomers and characterization of reaction products
Article Abstract:
Cathecol appears to be the most reactive humic monomer in the presence of a laccase from the fungus Polyporus pinsitus. Bentazon can be completely transformed in just 30 min at pH 4.0 when added with humic monomers such as cathecol. Cathecol appeared to be the most reactive humic monomer in the presence of an oxidative enzyme from the fungus Polyporus pinsitus. Two reaction products were characterized and identified as a dimer of one cathecol and one bentazon molecule and a trimer consisting of one cathecol molecule and two bentazon molecules, respectively.
