Fatigue life prediction in titanium matrix composites
Article Abstract:
Evaluation of the fatigue life in titanium matrix composites under isothermal and thermomechanical fatigue involves various models. The dominant damage model and the life fraction model are applicable over wide a range of frequency, temperature and loads. The use of stabilized stress or strain states enhances the predictability by incorporating stress redistribution due to damage, creep, and stress relaxations over the initial loading cycles.

Effect of architecture on the strength of braided tubes under biaxial tension and compression
Article Abstract:
The biaxial compressive strength characteristics of triaxial braided cylinders were measured experimentally and the effects of four different groups of braid architectures were studied. Findings indicated that fiber direction strain can correlate the results of biaxial tensile and compression failure tests. The braid parameters had an effect on measured strengths, mainly because of the introduction of defects into the fiber paths.

Mechanical properties of flat braided composites with a circular hole
Article Abstract:
Static tensile and fatigue testing of two types of flat braided composites with circular hole, BH and MH specimen, for damage propagation, reveals that BH specimen performs better than MH specimen for both properties evaluated.
