Gas/solid partitioning of semivolatile organic compounds (SOCs) to air filters. 3. An analysis of gas adsorption artifacts in measurements of atmospheric SOCs and organic carbon (OC) when using teflon membrane filters and quartz fiber filters
Article Abstract:
Teflon membrane and quartz fiber filters are used to measure the gas adsorption of semivolatile organic compounds with different conceptual models. Predictions of gas adsorption are graphed for several compounds, and discussed as a deterrant to accurate measurement of airborne pollution.

Organochlorine pesticide residues in archived UK soil
Article Abstract:
Soil samples saved from decades-long agricultural experiments in the UK have revealed significant concentrations of organochlorine pesticides. Analysis of data gathered supports the conclusion that degradation of these pesticides has been minimal over many years, and that introduction of sludge to the soil has had little effect. Statistical data, charts and graphs support the study's conclusions.
