Gradient performance problems - a case study
Article Abstract:
Performance tests that can be conducted for a liquid chromatography (LC) system, in order to check the linearity of gradient generation and accuracy of mobile phase proportioning, are analyzed. Specific steps that are involved in conducting these tests are presented. It is concluded that periodic LC performance tests should be done at least once a year for comparative purposes.

Making connections
Article Abstract:
The use of fittings and tubing in connecting the parts of a liquid chromatography (LC) system is explained. Compression fittings form the basis of the system which connects the LC system modules. Connection problems, as well as the importance of tubing composition, are also discussed.
