Fracture plane of cruciform specimen in biaxial low cycle fatigue - estimate by variance method and experimental verification
Article Abstract:
The variance method was used to determine the fracture plane under multiaxial random loadings. Strain-controlled biaxial low-cycle fatigue tests were first carried out at high temperature using cruciform specimens. Variance functions were then employed to compute for the expected fatigue fracture plane using the measured data. Results show that the variance method can give an accurate estimate of the actual fracture plane direction provided the normal strain is neglected.

Tension-torsion multiaxial low cycle fatigue of Mar-M247LC directionally solidified superalloy at elevated temperature
Article Abstract:
The high temperature multiaxial low cycle fatigue of Mar-M247LC directionally solidified superalloy was studied, based on tension-torsion multiaxial low cycle fatigue test data. The maximum principal stress and equivalent stress based on crack opening displacement, was found to correlate data within a small scatter.
