Inventor Nick Musachio has an idea for an electric car system that does not rely on batteries. The E-Tran system would utilize a street-mounted cable to supply energy to electric motor vehicles. The University of Minnesota will be studying the possibility of developing the system.

Deep Tunnel cleans up

The Deep Tunnel project in Chicago, IL, officially known as the Tunnel and Reservoir Plan, has succeeded in cleaning the Chicago River to the extent that fish are now living there. The project incorporates a system of deep tunnels, reservoirs and sewage treatment plants.
