The immune system can effectively fight off infections or succumb to them, and allow disease cells to reproduce and overtake to body. Cellular reactions of the immune system in fighting pneumococci, Leishmania and viral infections illustrate the strengths and weaknesses of the immune system.

A study conducted by researcher R. Barry Ruback revealed that motorists tend to spend extra time to block others who plan to cut them or occupy the space he or she is leaving behind. Ruback further concluded that such behavior is most prevalent in malls and parking areas.
