Influence of soil components on the transport of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon-degrading bacteria through saturated porous media
Article Abstract:
University researchers from Belgium and Switzerland conducted column experiments on the transport of bacteria in clay and soil and investigated the relationship of medium with the degradation of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons.

Influence of the nonionic surfactant Brij 35 on the bioavailability of solid and sorbed dibenzofuran
Article Abstract:
Availability of both solid and sorbed dibenzofuran to microorganisms when influenced by the nonionic surfactant Brij 46 is examined. Results of the experiments shoed that Brij 35 actually slowed down degradation of desorbed dibenzofuran, while it caused the dissolution of solid dibenzofuran to occur at twice the normal rate. The article's conclusions are supported by multiple tables and graphs.
