Interchange to fill gap in Interstate 95
Article Abstract:
A long -standing gap in Interstate-95 (I-95) will be filled by interlinking it with the Pennsylvania Turnpike and from there to New Jersey, making it continuous through the Middle Atlantic region. After studying fourteen alternatives, a single loop interchange, located at the intersection of the two highways on their existing alignments was selected as it had the least effect on homes and businesses.

Pennsylvania turnpike extension approved
Article Abstract:
A $2-billion section of a major expressway linking Pittsburgh to Pennsylvania's border with West Virginia has received federal approval, clearing the way for final design and right-of- way acquisition. To expedite the final design, the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission has divided the route 51 to I-376 segment into 13 sections and has already selected consultants to design each section.

Plastic bubbles lighten concrete deck
Article Abstract:
The application of the technology BubbleDeck, with which the floor will be filled with hundreds of plastic bubbles which lighten the weight of the structure, in the construction of Child, Adolescent and Women's Mental health Building in Vancouver, British Columbia, is discussed. Engineers have reduced the concrete by 30 percent.
