The evidences presented by Colin Powell revealed that Iraq's weapons of mass destruction program not only persisted but also was modified to evade the U.N inspections. Iraq's al-Hakam facility produced 8425 liters of anthrax in 1990 whereas two of its fermenters were borrowed from a veterinary lab.

NASA has launched a project to identify 90% of the large asteroids and comets that pose a threat to the Earth over the next 100 years. Some 700+ with a diameter of about one kilometer have been noted so far. The article discusses damage caused by a couple of past incidents.
