Bell Helicopter Textron and Boeing Company are jointly developing the Bell Boeing 609 tilt-rotor aircraft, which is projected to have a maximum speed and range of 509 km/hr and 1,400 km respectively. The commercial prototype is designed for urban commuting and emergency response purposes.
