Laser-assisted high-pressure chemical reactions
Article Abstract:
A newly developed branch of ultra-high-pressure chemistry, which employs high pressure to create the necessary reaction conditions, to transform simple hydrocarbons and monochromatic light to direct the chemical reaction in selective paths, is presented. An overview of the effects that can be obtained by the combined use of pressure and laser light is depicted.

Synthetic aspects of stereoselective hydroformylation
Article Abstract:
This article discusses one of the less understood aspects of hydroformylation process, the control of stereoselectivity during the course of the reaction. New concepts for an efficient substrate-direction in terms of substrate-bound catalyst-directing groups that facilitate high levels of acyclic stereocontrol in organic synthesis are described.

Transition metal-catalyzed enantioselective ring-opening reactions of oxabicyclic alkenes
Article Abstract:
Research shows that enantioselective metal-catalyzed asymmetric ring-opening reactions involving mesooxabicyclic alkenes can be carried out in the presence of a variety of nucleophiles. Data indicte that the yield can be high with more than 90% ee.
