Less meat, less misery: reforming factory farms
Article Abstract:
Animal rights movement's anti-meat diet and farm animal protection campaign is gathering momentum. A telephonic survey reveals an estimated 50% reduction in the use of laboratory animals. Of the 1,012 American adults surveyed, 93% felt a need for reduction of animal suffering, and 90% disapproved the methods of raising food animals. The movement promotes these ideals by providing scientific data on health risks posed by the non-vegetarian food and also by contrasting them with the healthfulness of vegetarian diet.

Animal research arouses passion, sparks debate
Article Abstract:
Usage of animal experimentation in scientific research is raising public and animal rights activists' opposition and concern on the pain and suffering the laboratory animals go through. Animal-care committees overseeing animal research ethics are still trying to find answers to issues related to the costs and benefits of a research project, and degree of pain, suffering, and harm in different species of animals used during scientific experiments.

Animal liberation is our liberation
Article Abstract:
The historical evidence counters vivisectors' claim that animal experimentation provides the only scientific way to save human lives. Insulin and polio vaccines, claimed as results of animal research, were developed without the use of animals. Animal experiments are expensive, crude, time-consuming, and unreliable. Technological innovations such as diagnostic computer programs provide a plausible alternative to animal research.
