Local structure formation in alkyl-imidazolium-based ionic liquids as revealed by linear and nonlinear Raman spectroscopy
Article Abstract:
Linear and nonlinear Raman spectroscopy is used for examining the local structure formation in alkyl-imidazolium-based ionic liquids. Broad band assignable to collective modes of local structures with different sizes are found in liquid [C.sub.n]mim[p[F.sub.6]] (n = 4, 6,8).

Article Abstract:
A study to examine the solubility of gases in ionic liquids (ILs) is conducted. Findings reveal a several fold increase in carbon dioxide solubility due to the use of fluoro-alkyl chains.
