Nonoctahedral structures
Article Abstract:
This article examines two models, a simple molecular orbital and the valence bond models, to explain the structural configurations of six-coordinate molecules or complexes that are nonoctahedral. Data suggest that in the octahedral structures, the electron configuration of the compounds is a reflection of that found in the central atom. Deviations from such structures, exemplified by sigma-bonded organometallic compounds, are discussed.

Stereoelectronic substituent effects
Article Abstract:
The influence of the stereochemistry of substituents, particularly hydroxyl groups, on their electronic effects in piperidines, carbohydrates and related compounds was investigated. Little difference in electronic effects was observed from apolar groups as a result of epimerization.
