Organic synthesis: current status in Japan
Article Abstract:
Trends in organic synthesis in Japan are similar to those in the rest of the world. Major research is directed in five areas: synthetic methods, synthesis of interesting molecules, economical production of important compounds, discovery of artificial substances and molecular functions.

Organic synthesis of prostaglandins: advancing biology

Protaglandins are anticancer and antiviral fatty acids. Synthesizing these molecules is an important accomplishment. The nature of their synthesis, and their therapeutic uses is presented.
