Valtech, a Paris-based firm, which distributes information technologies to companies in France and other parts of Europe, is studied, as the firm switched tracks to become an exclusive knowledge-transfer firm that advises clients in the use of new technologies. The evolution of the company from its start-up days to its present model as a knowledge-intensive firm is traced in detail.

The method to construct and validate management measurement scale on the basis of management concepts is detailed. In case of biotechnology and telecommunications industries, the firms develop practices and techniques to create, disseminate and benefit from knowledge, and a measurement scale for knowledge management meets the conditions like validity, reliability and dimensionality.
