Predator-free guppies take an evolutionary leap forward
Article Abstract:
Guppies transplanted by biologist David Resnick to a almost predator-free pool in 1981, grew bigger and more long-lived in the 11 research period that followed. Freed from the adverse effects of predators, the guppies also produced fewer off-spring. The research shows the speed of some evolutionary changes.

Archaeopteryx: early bird catches a can of worms
Article Abstract:
Controversy over whether Archaeopteryx is a bird or a dinosaur has ornithologists in disagreement with paleontologists. The debate is important to the question of avian evolution: did birds descend from dinosaurs or from a crocodile-like ancestor?

Fossilized hatchling heats up the bird-dinosaur debate
Article Abstract:
Some researchers believe that the 135 million-year-old fossil of a nestling bird found in Spain provides evidence that modern birds evolved from dinosaurs. Other scientists disagree with this interpretation of the fossil.
