This article suggests remedial measures that are necessary to be implemented by the businesses, under strong economic conditions, to protect against the effects of slower economic growth in the coming years. Trimming expenditure, debt control, and curtailing capital equipment investments are some of the suggested measures in this direction.

Article Abstract:
An analysis of how knowledge and technical expertise of small engineering firms helped the construction of the $14-billion Boston's Central Artery/Tunnel, also called the Big Dig, is presented. The small firms provided technical expertise on urban design, architecture, and traffic management to large engineering firms.
