Pumping Iron Through Celt Membranes
Article Abstract:
Research on gated protein channels and their importance are noted. The structure of these channels are detailed as well as its properties. The functions of the protein FhuA and its activities are explained in regard to cytoplasmic membrane, along with proteins TonB, ExbB and ExbD. The crystal structure of FhuA is also discussed.

Nuclear Fusion of Signaling Pathways
Article Abstract:
A study of how and where linear intracellular signal transduction pathways intersect shows how homologous transcriptional coactivator molecule p300 facilitates this action to stimulate the differentiation of fetal neuroepithelial cells into astrocytes. It is still not clear how p300 promotes gene transcription.

Signaling across membranes: a one and a two and a...
Article Abstract:
Research indicates that dimerization of receptors is not necessary in transmembrane signaling. The Tar receptor for aspartate operates in a monomeric intracellular environment, suggesting that signaling is more complex that previously believed.
