Redox regulation: A broadening horizon
Article Abstract:
Some information on the interacting disulfide groups and partcipating proteins that link redox to the regulation of myriad enzymatic reactions throughout the plant is provided. Key events in the developing areas are highlighted in an attempt to provide a synoptic overview of the role of redox in regulation throughout the plant.

Apomixis: a developmental perspective
Article Abstract:
The knowledge gained from analyzing ovule, embryo, and endosperm development in sexual and apomictic plants is reviewed. In addition, the view that apomixis and sexuality are closely interrelated developmental pathways where apomixis can be viewed as a deregulation of the sexual process in both time and space is consolidated.

Single-cell C (sub 4) photosynthesis versus the dual-cell (kranz) paradigm
Article Abstract:
The amazing diversity in C (sub 4) systems is discussed. The ways in which essential features of C (sub 4) are accomplished in single-cell versus Kranz-type C (sub 4) plants are detailed and the reasons behind the evolution of single-cell C (sub 4) plants is speculated.
