Second State of the Parks Report tabled in parliament
Article Abstract:
Parks Canada presented its second report on the ecosystems of Canada's national parks as required by the National Parks Act. Findings included negative ecological impact from tourism in 22 parks, and native plants being displaced by exotic species in 19 parks. Other data is discussed.

CNF tackles mining section on protected areas
Article Abstract:
The mining sector in Canada claims that the aim of the Canadian Nature Federation (CNF) to reserve 12% of the country as protected areas is detrimental to the industry's future. CNF is now involvedin a project to address the concerns of the mining industry.
