A long-term study of nuns indicates that the factors that lead to the development of Alzheimer's disease are probably fixed at an early age. Nuns who later died with symptoms of Alzheimer's disease relied more than those who did not on simple sentences when writing essays as novices.

The failure of many banks has led to speculation about deregulation. Banks could benefit from the marketing and underwriting of securities. Both government-insured bank deposits and limits on diversification have led to economic problems for banks.
