The scientists have discovered that a protein, is oncomodulin, secreted in damaged eyes by immune cells known as macrophages, can increase nerve regeneration fivefold to sevenfold in rat with injured optic nerves. Visual Studies has developed a 'seeing machine' that projects images directly onto the retina using a light-emitting diodes, similar to much more costly scanning ophthalmoscopes used by medical institutions.

A battery prototype nanomembrane built by mPhase and Bell Labs with shrink features of electrodes, which gives the battery a longer life is explained. A nanobattery proves to be the beginning of power sources that keeps pace with the revolution in miniaturization by overtaking the rest of electronics industry for decades.

Glow for the dark
Article Abstract:
The development and design of a new digital imager for detecting the glow of excited molecules in the sky at night is discussed. The described nightglow vision is found to be very useful for consumer and medical applications.
