Article Abstract:
Multiple traffic surveillance and information networks are incorporated in the construction of intelligent transportation systems that provide a visual coverage of the roadway conditions. A collaborative project between Lehigh University and the New Jersey Department of Transportation for the development of cantilever sign support structures is presented.

This article discuses the concept of intermodal transportation and an innovative magnetically levitated (maglev) technology used in the alternative mode of travelling. The autoshuttle system transports automobiles with their passengers in ventilated transport cabins, which enter and leave a convoy running at a constant speed.

This article describes construction of a 2.6 mile, $57-million, unique tunnel capable of handling railroad as well as motor vehicles in Whittier, Alaska. Study reveals this Anton Anderson Railroad Tunnel functions as two-in-one tunnel and is the longest rail and highway tunnel in North America.
