Strategies for constructing polymeric micelles and hollow spheres in solution via specific intermolecular interactions
Article Abstract:
Long-term research on interpolymer complexation through hydrogen bonding has helped on developing new routes to polymeric micelles and hollow spheres, using intermolecular-specific interactions. Strategic discoveries along this line in two major areas of research, the assembly of systems composed of small molecules and block copolymers, and the 'block copolymer-free strategies' in which complementary polymer pairs are used as the building blocks, are presented.
