High-valent iron(IV)-oxo complexes of heme and non-heme ligands in oxygenation reactions
Article Abstract:
The analysis of the reactivities of synthetic iron(IV)-oxo porphyrin pie-cation radicals and mononuclear non-heme iron(IV)-oxo complexes in oxygenation reactions as chemical models of cytochrome P450 and non-heme iron enzymes are described. It was revealed that the mechanistic developments in biomimetric research enhance the knowledge of dioxygen activation and oxygen atom transfer reactions in nature.

Directly linked porphyrin arrays with tunable excitonic interactions
Article Abstract:
A variety of directly linked porphyrin arrays is developed on the basis of the Ag(I)-promoted coupling reactions of Zn(II) 5,-15-diaryl porphyrin that gives a meso-meso-linked diporphyrin. The results demonstrate the competition in excitation energy transfer (EET) process that can be modulated by the choice of metalloporphyrin and by inference, its location in the array.
