The COP signalosome: regulating plant development through the control of proteolysis
Article Abstract:
An introduction to the COP9 signalosome (CSN), a multiprotein complex initially identified in plants as a repressor of photomorphogenesis is given. In addition, the current understanding of the COP9 signalosome function, with particular emphasis on its recently defined role in modulating a wide variety of cellular processes by regulating specific protein degradation events, is reviewed and discussed.

Phosphoenolpyruvate carboxylase: a new era of structural biology
Article Abstract:
The three dimensional structure of the protein, molecular mechanisms of catalytic and regulatory functions, and the molecular cloning and characterization of PEPC kinases are reviewed. The reaction mechanism of PEPC is presented and the unique molecular property of PEPC kinases and its possible regulation at the post-translational level are discussed.
