Nitrogen oxide pollution may spark seeds' growth
Article Abstract:
Ecologists have discovered the compound in smoke that triggers the germination of plants after wildfires. Nitrogen oxide produced by wildfires can cause the germination of Yellow Whispering Bells, a common California wildflower. Air pollution may also trigger germination.
