The emerging art of solid-state synthesis
Article Abstract:
Solid-state chemists are employing techniques used to produce multilayered films of semiconducting materials in solid-state synthesis. One project used molecular beam epitaxy to assemble superlattices of NbSe2 and TiSe2 layers.

Metastable dense semiconductor phases
Article Abstract:
Chia-Chun Chen's studies of solid-solid structural phase transitions in cadmium selenide nanocrystals suggest that the high-pressure phases may be metastable at standard temperature and pressure. The experiments are described.
