Insights into the global distribution of polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins and dibenzofurans
Article Abstract:
Researchers from Indiana State University studied for the concentrations of polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins and dibenzofurans in tree bark and soil samples from Vancouver Island, U.S. midwest, Germany and Hong Kong.

Abiotic transformation of perchloroethylene in homogeneous dithionite solution and in suspensions of dithionite-treated clay minerals
Article Abstract:
It has been proven that oxidized organic pollutant reduction may occur by purely abiotic chemical reactions. The following experiment examined the reductive dechlorination of perchloroethylene in homogenous solutions of dithionite and at the surfaces of Na-montomorillonite and dithionite-citrate-bicarbonate treated ferruginous smectite.
