Underground research: here and there
Article Abstract:
The scale of underground construction and the technologies that make them possible have gone beyond dangerous and expensive labor-intensive operations. Advancements in design and construction methods are evident in the computers, geotextiles and specialized equipments presently being used. In this regard, a comparison of the quality, nature and quantity of research of underground construction technology efforts by the US, Japan and Europe are presented.
