The care of elderly people and the practice of geriatric medicine in Israel is discussed. Most Israelis provide for their aged parents emotionally and financially but many aged patients do not fight for their rights as they do in the US.

Ethical issues in end-of-life geriatric care: the approach of three monotheistic religions - Judaism, Catholicism, and Islam
Article Abstract:
The article examines religious stances on medical ethics from Jewish, Catholic and Muslim perspectives. Although many similarities exist, significant differences are also present. Implications for transcultural medical care, specifically for terminally ill elderly patients, are discussed.

The care pf patients with dementia: a modern Jewish ethical perspective
Article Abstract:
Dementic patients and their families face difficult times and ethical dilemmas in life. The Jewish ethical response to some of these issues can help clinicians in treating patients of the Jewish faith and can serve as an example.
