Organizational learning in a hospital
Article Abstract:
Research is conducted on organizational learning mechanisms (OLMs), or institutionalized procedural and structural systems that enable an organization to acquire, examine, store, dispense and utilize information critical to its performance. The study uses as an example an Israeli cardiac surgery ward, and shows that OLMs are culturally embedded in shared values.

Chic, mystique, and misconception: Argyris and Schon and the rhetoric of organizational learning
Article Abstract:
The author argues that the works of Chris Argyris and fellow theorist Schon are often cited but rarely critiqued, making them merely 'chic' within the field. The author also posits that the theorists' focus on organizational concepts which are difficult to realize provides them with a 'mystique,' and it is due to this focus that the two theorists have more to offer the discipline than the ways in which they are typically used, contributing to 'misconception.'
