Gift of music energizes patients
Article Abstract:
Persian Gulf War veteran Clark Knicely along with George Hauer of Madison music store in Connecticut initiated the Operation Music Aid program to provide musical instruments to patients in the military hospitals recovering from injuries and to reduce their boredom between the therapy sessions. The Operation Music Aid has helped the art and occupational therapy sessions and with increasing donations from different community groups, corporations and individuals, they hope to expand it to various military hospitals and even overseas.

VFW members offer assistance to hurricane victims
Article Abstract:
VFW members stepped to offer assistance that was monetary or inkind items and services in relations with the 2005 hurricane Katrina's arrival in the Gulf Coast. Almost 2200 members were on help that either served shelters for the displaced, gave clothing and personal hygiene items, or helped to raise money for VFW's Hurricane Relief Fund by hosting spaghetti dinner, benefit dances and food drives.

VFW aids Hurricane victims
Article Abstract:
Veteran of Foreign Wars (VFW) National Headquarters representatives including the VFW Commander-in-Chief Jim Mueller visit the affected areas to access the damage and offer assistance after the destructions caused by monster Hurricane Katrina. VFW provides help in terms of providing shelters to people and funds to Departments of Mississippi, Louisiana, and Alabama.
