The Heckscher-Ohlin model shows that trade liberalization invariably leads to increase in specialization. Incorporating endowment-based comparative advantage in the New Economic Geography Network settles the uncertainty in the analysis of factor abundance and agglomeration forces.

A model for the examination of the theoretical causal factors of the fact that high productivity regions have lower unemployment is presented. The impacts of regional agglomeration, productivity differences and migration on unemployment disparities are analyzed.
