Increasing the degrees of freedom in future group randomized trials: The df approach
Article Abstract:
A study on external estimates of intraclass correlation that can be used to improve for the analysis of an existing group of randomized trial is done. Such studies are needed as pilot studies to help plan for a full-scale efficacy trial, as replication studies, or in situations in which resource constraints prohibit a larger trial

Increasing the degrees of freedom in existing group randomized trials: The df approach
Article Abstract:
A method of incorporating external estimates of intraclass correlation to improve the precision for the analysis of an existing group-randomized trial is described. The limitation of random-effects meta-analytic approach used and the circumstances in which it is likely to be helpful is discussed.

An evaluation of analysis options for the one-group-per-condition design: can any of the alternatives overcome the problems inherent in this design?
Article Abstract:
This article evaluates the effectiveness of a design in which one identifiable group is assigned to a treatment condition and individuals in the group are measured to access the intervention. The authors argue that this is an ineffective design which presents a number or problems and errors.
