Article Abstract:
Narrative styles in the stories told by managers and workers about their experiences in an organization implementing culture change as part of a strategy to improve organizational performance through people management. These narrative styles make up cognitive frameworks within whichh the actors interpret their own actions and those of others. The narrative styles make up part of the corporate culture.

Managers as evaluators; invoking objectivity to achieve objectives
Article Abstract:
Issues are discussed regarding managers doing their job by building a view of the organization as a stable, objective reality. This included traditional, positivist ideas of interviewing for the managers and their interviewees. Although the interview was deeply involved in the production of answers, they viewed the interview as part of an objective research process.

Issues are discussed regarding the application of Peter Senge's vision of the learning organization to studying daily business discourse, as well as reasons for Senge's popularity. Ernest ormann's fantasy theme analysis, a method of rhetorical criticism based in symbolic convergence theory, is used as an approach.
