The fifth cell: correlation bias in U.S. Census adjustment
Article Abstract:
A method is presented for correcting correlation bias in census taking, in which individuals are missing both from the census and the adjusted accounts, and is applied to the US Census for 1990. The method involves demographic analysis which includes biases measurements resulting from evaluation study processing errors.

Salt and blood pressure: conventional wisdom reconsidered

Medical authorities seem to agree that a diet high in salt causes high blood pressure and leads to other health problems, but major studies contradict this assertion. Data from the major studies are reanalyzed and show mixed results.
