Technology transfer and absorption: an 'R&D value mapping' approach to evaluation
Article Abstract:
The development and dissemination of technology are analyzed in 31 case studies of research, development and demonstration projects of the New York State Energy and Development Authority. The analysis seconded the information that technology transfer and absorption are independent processes that are driven by independent forces. The process models of the two processes reveal that technology absorption is more complicated and requires more support whereas 'market-induced' transfer requires less. Absorption is also considered more successful than transfer process.
