When organizational voice systems fail: more on the deaf-ear syndrome and frustration effects
Article Abstract:
Open-door policies in many corporations for handling employee complaints are widely subject to failure, often leading to increase employee perceptions of discontent and unfairness. This is sometimes referred to as deaf-ear syndrome, and corporations can best promote civility at work by not fearing dissent and reviewing procedures for handling complaints.

The charge to the white male brigade
Article Abstract:
This article describes how a workshop in group identity disclosed white males' feelings of being attacked by white women and women of color. Included is a poem describing the roots and resolution of this attitude, loosely based on "The Charge of the Light Brigade" by Alfred, Lord Tennyson.

When is helping helpful? Effects of evaluation and intervention timing on basketball performance
Article Abstract:
Research suggests that help given by another nonevaluative person affects how people perform on learning tasks. Timing of help from a nonevaluative person is not relevant, while timing has been shown to inhibit performance improvement when help is provided by an evaluative person.
