Why we can afford Social Security
Article Abstract:
Social Security program's long-term financial conditions could be restored through minor or major adjustments although minor adjustments are preferred. A proposed plan to restore 75 year actuarial balance of the program demonstrates that the program could be restored without assuming the availability of funds from the rest of the budget that might not be there leaving future benefits at risk.

Social Security, a government backed insurance program solves economic problems like income needed for a surviving minor child and lifelong income for an individual who becomes disabled. Social Security income is vital considering an analysis of the program that revealed that 43% of older adults in California and 60% of older women would be poor without Social Security income.
