Microwave in sailboats makes an easy partner for cooking while sailing. However, it requires longer engine-running times which may retire the battery at an early stage. The Agor Technologies microwave is a good buy. The unit has a built-in dc-to-ac inverter and is less power consuming.

One battery bank or two?

A single bank of house batteries is considered the optimal set-up for electricity storage and boat house use. Such a system must be complimented by an isolated cranking battery reserve.
