A farewell to paper charts?
Article Abstract:
Platinum and Max are the two companies, both heirs to Italy's grand marine heritage are at the center of revolution and while chartplotters remove much of the potential confusion, users still struggle to understand their surroundings using that old top-down model, Max and Platinum add third dimension to it. Platinum notably also features photo maps, high-altitude top-down images and Max breaks the time dimension, animating both currents and navigation lights on the formerly static charts.
