Article Abstract:
Sailors face a jib-sheet over ride on the winch, a knotty problem with the sheet bar-tight and the boat bowling along with the rail down. The solution for this over ride is the rolling hitch for bending on a line, which is also, called 'Back hitch' or 'midshipmans hitch' and cruisers use the rolling hitch to set up awnings over their decks and cockpits, especially in the tropics.
